These very rare and beautiful engravings of fresh and saltwater fish by Dutch painter, draughtsman and engraver, Albert Flamen, are some of his most well-known and desired works.

Many museums around the world hold these engravings, including the Musée des Beaux-arts de la Ville de Paris, and the British Museum.

Poissons d’ Eau Douce – Freshwater Fishes and Poissons Der Mer – Saltwater Fishes was first published by Van Merlan in Paris in 1664, the engravings offered here are from the second issue in 1700.

condition:Overall excellent, minor imperfections to be expected with age. Printed on laid paper with watermarks. Copy of title page included.
